The device is designed to convert and transmit the RS485 communication protocol via LoRaWAN wireless network. This simple IoT installation retrofits the old equipment with the capability of wireless IoT. The device supports the Modbus protocol and allows remote monitoring and controlling of RS485-based equipment. It provides ultra-long range spread spectrum communication and high interference immunity while minimizing current consumption.
For data uplink: The RS485(Modbus) sends user-defined commands to RS485 equipment and receives the RS485 devices’ return. The RS485-LN will process these returns according to the user-defined rules to get the final payload to upload to the LoRaWAN server.
For data downlink: The RS485(Modbus) runs in LoRaWAN Class C. When it receives downlink commands from the LoRaWAN server, it will forward the commands to the RS485 devices.
